Whole Brain Consulting Sponsors Scholarship Opportunity For Future Soccer Athletes in Memory of Sam Chuenchit
7/31/2018
Brandon Hernandez, senior partner of Whole Brain Consulting, collaborated with 17 other sponsors to support the Sam Chuenchit Scholarship program. On July 13, 2018 a golf tournament and silent auction was held at Pelican Lakes golf course in Windsor Colorado to support the athletes of the future. This fund was established in 2008 in memory of Sumret “Sam” Chuenchit, a long-time soccer coach in Greeley.
In total the effort raised a total of $8,889, which is $800 more than 2017. For a list of scholarship winners, visit the Northern Colorado Rush website.
Sumret “Sam” Chuenchit passed away January 3rd, 2008. Chuenchit began coaching soccer for the Greeley City League, which were called the Bootleggers at that time. Chuenchit then went on to serve the soccer community as an assistant coach for Greeley Central and Greeley West High Schools, leading to head coach positions for both boys’ and girls’ soccer teams at Northridge High School. When Greeley West won back-to-back state championships in 2004 and 2005, Coach Chuenchit was leading the team, and eventually, he was named Coach of the Year at Northridge High School. His great love of soccer and the soccer players of Greeley is honored through this ongoing scholarship program.
The Sam Chuenchit Scholarship
Sam’s desire to help provide for kids who play soccer is being furthered by the scholarship fund established in his name. Over the past eight years, the fund has provided three (3) one-time $1,000.00 scholarships to the college/university of the recipient’s choosing. Thanks to generous donations and incredible support of this golf tournament, the fund presently has approximately $40,000.
